Grey Display

Grey Display was conceived — together with Grey Text and Ultra Black — as part of the Grey Press. Since it serves as the display version of Grey Text, it is based on the proportions of it’s capitals.

The concept behind the typeface enables the user to switch between the six versions without changing the layout. Their shapes are identical, only the inline and serifs sets them apart. This creates opportunities for overprinting and putting a stroke — the cover of Witte Zaal — around the typeface.
